HALL OF FAMER EUGENA GREGG DISPLAYING HER TROPHY
The Government of Saint Lucia, Ministry of Youth Development and Sport, recognized Hall of Famer, Ms. Eugena Gregg at the 42nd Annual National Independence, Sports Award Ceremony, held at the Pavillion, Rodney Bay on Saturday 17,February 2024. The Ceremony which features the most Prestigious Awards of Sportsman and Sportswoman of the year was captured by Ms. Julien Alfred (Athletic) and Mr. Johnson Charles (Cricket)
Ms. Gregg’s, who is a former National and West Indies female cricketer and Manager was inducted in the First Hall of Fame, located in Hartford Connecticut on October 7th, 2023. . This award, which was presented by the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Honorable Philip J..Pierre, was as a result of her outstanding contribution to Cricket, including her input towards the growth and development of the Sport, service to Community and Country and the many lives she impacted as a player and Administrator.
Ms. Gregg, a right arm medium fast bowler and right hand batter, was the first St.Lucian to represent the West Indies Women, and appeared in ten (10) one day Internationals between 1993 & 1997. She was Captain of the Saint Lucia National Women’s Cricket Team which reigned supreme in the Caribbean during her era.
